Things to keep in mind about Security and Remote Start!

IGNITION BYPASS

(This applies to anyone considering a REMOTE START!)

If your vehicle was manufactured 1999 – Present your vehicle likely requires a microchip (most often located in the black-coated portion of the key). This microchip tells the vehicle the key is present before it will let the car start. This is a security feature added by the manufacturer. We get around this factory installed need to have a key present by installing an Ignition Bypass. This Bypass does not take away any security features that are currently functioning. The bypass cost varies depending on the vehicle, as this is a vehicle specific part.

REMOTES

(Will my current remotes still work?)

In most cases, the factory remotes will still function as normal. However, it is more convenient having one remote to carry instead of two. Every function that is currently on your factory remote may be programmed to your new aftermarket remotes. Including: Lock/Unlock – Trunk Release – Panic Button – Seat Warmer or any electronic function that remains on after restarting your vehicle. Don’t have a seat warmer? We can install that too!

COMMUNICATION

(What's the difference?)

One-Way Communication means, when you push the remote start button a signal is sent from your remote to the vehicle and the vehicle starts. However, that’s where the communication ends. To make sure your vehicle is running, you would have to physically verify by looking out a window or by being next to the vehicle. With Two-Way Communication, you push the remote start button and a signal is sent from your remote to the vehicle, just like before, the vehicle starts. The difference is, once the vehicle is running it too sends a signal back to the remote indicating that it has started, completing the circle. What does that mean to you? Complete confidence that your vehicle is running when you want it to be.
